Senior Geologist – Resource Definition

8:6 FIFO Roster | Westgold Resources

Westgold Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Geologist – Resource Definition to join our Technical Services team across Westgold Resources’ operations. This role is offered on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth and provides the opportunity to work on technically complex orebodies within a long‑life mining environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Geology Superintendent / Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of resource definition drilling programs, supervision of geological teams and contractors, and providing high‑quality geological input to Life of Mine planning.



Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supervising Resource Definition geologists, geotechnicians and contractors
  • Planning, scheduling and managing underground drilling and logging programs
  • Managing QAQC of drilling, survey and assay data
  • Reviewing and reporting drilling results on a daily through to monthly basis
  • Collaborating with underground production and technical services teams to support LOM requirements
  • Providing geological input into Mine Planning and Resource estimation processes
  • Promoting strong safety leadership and compliance with site systems and standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline
  • Statutory S26 Certification
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the mining industry, preferably within gold operations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within mine geology or resource definition
  • Strong QAQC knowledge and a data‑driven mindset
  • Experience with Surpac, Leapfrog and Microsoft Office
  • A current C‑class manual driver’s licence
